Save / Load Predefined SettingsClick the Save / Load Menu control icon or press M to display the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu. The Save / Load Menu control, to the right of the Settings Selector control, will invoke the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu which is used to load, create, modify or delete named sets of predefined settings. When you click on this control, a menu will drop down with six entries: Load Settings, Save Settings, Save As Initial Settings, Save Settings As, Delete Settings and Import Settings. The plug-in stores user-defined settings in small Settings Files located in its Settings Folder. Settings Files located in this folder will appear in the list of available settings in the Settings Selector control. For StarFilter Pro 4, Settings Files that appear in the Settings Selector are stored in the folder: C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\ProDigital\StarFilterPro4\Settings Note that Settings Files created by StarFilter Pro 4 will always have a ".sfp" extension. |
Load Settings... Menu SelectionSelecting Load Settings from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will allow you to load a Settings File containing predefined settings from a folder other than the StarFilter Pro 4 Settings Folder. The name of the Settings set that was loaded will not appear in the Settings Selector Display; Instead the word Custom will appear. If you would like this set of predefined settings to appear in the Settings Selector, you should use the Import Settings menu selection to load the Settings File. Note that as the plug-in evolves, settings may be added or changed. When loaded, a Settings File saved from an older version of this plug-in will be automatically converted to the current format. See the Loading Predefined Settings manual page for more information. |
Save Settings Menu SelectionSelecting Save Settings from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will allow you to modify the currently selected set of user-predefined settings as displayed in the Settings Selector control. This menu selection makes it easy to make adjustments to a set of Predefined Settings that you had created earlier. Simply select the set of Predefined Settings that you wish to modify, adjust the Slider Controls as desired, and select Save Settings to update the currently selected set of Predefined Settings. Note that you can only modify user-created Predefined Settings that are located in the Settings Folder. If the current selection displayed by the Settings Selector is Default Settings, Custom, or None this menu selection will be disabled (grayed out). |
Save As Initial Settings Menu SelectionSelecting Save As Initial Settings from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will allow you to modify the values that will be retrieved if you subsequently choose Initial Settings from the Settings Selector control. |
Save Settings As... Menu SelectionSelecting Save Settings As from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will allow you to save your current settings to a Settings File for later use. You will be presented with a File Save dialog box which will allow you to assign a name to the new Settings File. By default, the File Save dialog will start in the folder that the plug-in uses for user-predefined settings. Save your Settings File in this folder if you want your settings to appear in the Settings Selector control. Of course, you can save a Settings File anywhere else you care to; it just won't appear in the Settings Selector control. |
Delete Settings Menu SelectionSelecting Delete Settings from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will delete the settings that are currently selected in the Settings Selector control. The settings will be removed from the Settings Selector control and the associated Settings File will be deleted. This is permanent so be sure that you want to delete the selected settings. Once the currently selected Settings File has been deleted, the Settings Selector will display None to indicate that no set of predefined settings is associated with the current settings. Note that you can only delete user-created predefined settings located in the Settings Folder. If the current selection displayed by the Settings Selector is Default Settings, Custom, or None this menu selection will be disabled (grayed out). |
Import Settings... Menu SelectionSelecting Import Settings from the Save / Load Predefined Settings menu will allow you to import one or more Settings Files into StarFilter Pro 4. You can use this if you have Settings Files in a location other than the plug-in's Settings Folder or to import a Settings File that someone else has sent you. After importing the settings, the names of the imported files will immediately appear in the Settings Selector. These new selections will continue to be available every time that you run StarFilter Pro 4. Note that as the plug-in evolves, settings may be added or changed. When imported, a Settings File saved from an older version of this plug-in will be automatically converted to the current format. See the Importing Predefined Settings manual page for more information. |
