These settings are Slider Controls with which you tune the flattening process to give the best results with your particular image.

Adjust these settings for best appearance, and don't forget to use the [  ] Enhance Preview checkbox to help you see into the darkest parts to get the settings just right.

Smoothness (S) - Set the smoothness level to fine tune the flattening effect. Smoothness

The Smoothness control is used to choose just the right level of separation between the luminance background of the image and the image subject material (e.g., stars, nebulae, and galaxies).

Edge Cleanup (C) - Set how much additional cleanup to apply to the outer edges of the image Edge Cleanup

Edge Cleanup adjusts for best appearance of the image edges.

Dark noise reduction (N) - Set the level of the dark noise reduction in the background of the image Dark Noise Reduction

Dark Noise Reduction reduces the amount of noise in the darkest parts of the image.
