Ring FlareThe Ring Flare control group in the Advanced Controls contains Slider Controls with which you set how many stars in your image will receive Ring Flare effects and the appearance of the Ring Flare. A Ring Flare effect consists of a ring at some distance from the star. A glow effect extends both inward and outward from the ring. The glow extending inward, refered to here as the inner edge, tends to decrease in intensity as it approaches the star. Both the width of the inner edge and the rate at which it decreases in intensity are adjustable. The glow extending outward, refered to here as the outer edge, tends to decrease in intensity as the distance from the ring and the star increases. Both the width of the outer edge and the rate at which it decreases in intensity are adjustable. The following controls are found in the Ring Flare control group: |
QuantityThe Quantity control allows you to increase or decrease the number of stars (ranked by brightness) that are given Ring Flares. |
IntensityThe Intensity control allows you to increase or decrease the intensity of the Ring Flare around a star. This control increases the intensity of all portions of the Ring Flare effect. |
SizeThe Size control sets the diameter of the Ring Flare that is centered on the star. |
Color SaturationThe Color Saturation control sets the amount of star color that will be rendered into the Ring Flare. |
Color Hue ControlThe Color Hue control adjusts the color hue or "tint" that will be rendered into the Ring Flare, from more purplish to more greenish. |
Inner Edge FalloffThe Inner Edge Falloff control sets the rate at which the intensity of the inner edge of the Ring Flare decreases as it nears the star. |
Inner Edge WidthThe Inner Edge Width control sets the width of the inner edge of the Ring Flare. |
Outer Edge FalloffThe Outer Edge Falloff control sets the rate at which the intensity of the outer edge of the Ring Flare decreases. |
Outer Edge WidthThe Outer Edge Width control sets the width of the outer edge of the Ring Flare effect. |
