System Requirements
To use the StarFilter Pro 4 plug-in, you must be running a compatible image editor program on a PC system that meets the hardware and software requirements below.

Your PC's CPU must support the SSE2 instruction set (available on all Intel and AMD processors since about 2003).
While we advertise no specific minimum RAM requirement, the more RAM you have, the larger the images you'll be able to process.
StarFilter Pro 4 will run on any of the following Windows 32 and 64 bit operating systems.
Please note that, beginning with StarFilter Pro 4, Windows XP is no longer supported.
Please note that, beginning with StarFilter Pro 4 Version 4.3.1, Windows Vista is no longer supported.
StarFilter Pro 4 uses OpenGL to process and display your image. This allows both better display quality and faster performance via GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) acceleration.
StarFilter Pro 4 can only run on systems supporting OpenGL version 2.1 or greater with 2 or more texture units (features provided by virtually all modern OpenGL implementations). Downloading and installing the latest display drivers from the web site of the maker of your graphics card or embedded GPU can often improve OpenGL performance and stability.
Please note that beginning with StarFilter Pro 4, this plug-in will refuse to run if the display driver in your system does not provide support for OpenGL version 2.1 or greater along with at least 2 texture units.
You can use the StarFilter Pro 4 plug-in with Adobe® Photoshop® or other image editors that support Adobe® Photoshop® compatible 8BF style filter plug-ins, but be aware that some image editors support 8BF plug-ins more thoroughly than others.
There are many fine image editors available and we simply haven't been able to test them all. If your image editor is not one of the those that we have tested and found compatible, we recommend that you take advantage of our "Try Before You Buy" offer to test StarFilter Pro 4 with your image editor.

We have made every effort to make StarFilter Pro 4 compatible with every editor that provides an interface to 8BF-sytle plug-ins. As we test for compatibility with additional editors we will list them. If you have an editor that supports 8BF plug-ins and it's not listed, please let us know. It is our intent to make our product compatible with all major photo editors that support 8BF plug-ins.
