Primary Spikes Control Group Primary Diffraction Spikes

The Primary Diffraction Spikes control group in the Advanced Controls contains Slider Controls with which you set how many highlights in your image will receive Primary Spike effects and the appearance of the Primary Spikes.

The Primary Spike effect consists of an adjustable number of diffraction spikes exending outward from the highlight. The number of spikes, their angular orientation, and most aspects of their appearance are adjustable using the controls listed below.

Several preprogramed spike patterns are available and can be selected using the Effect Selection control listed below.

The following controls are found in the Primary Diffraction Spikes control group:

Effect (:) - Choose the star filter effect to be generated. Effect Selection

Select which type of effect you wish to render into your image.

Quantity (Q) - Sets how many highlights, ranked by brightness, will be given Primary Spikes Quantity

The Quantity control allows you to increase or decrease the number of highlights (ranked by brightness) that are given Primary Spike effects. You can put effects on just a very few of the brightest highlights or you can include more, dimmer ones.

Intensity (I) - Sets the brightness of the Primary Spike effects Intensity

The Intensity control allows you to increase or decrease the brightness at which the Primary Spikes are rendered.

Length (L) - Sets the length of the Primary Spikes Length

The Length control sets the length of the Primary Spikes.

Angle (A) - Sets the rotation angle of the Primary Spikes Angle

The Angle control sets the angle of the Primary Spikes as they emanate from the highlight. 0 degrees is considered straight up.

Number of Points (N) - Sets the number of Primary Spikes around a highlight Number Of Points

The Number of Points control sets the number of Primary Spikes that emanate from the highlight.

Spike Sharpness (S) - Sets the fuzziness or sharpness of the Primary Spikes Spike Sharpness

The Spike Sharpness control allows you to make the Primary Spikes more fuzzy or crisp.

Spike Spread (K) - Sets how quickly Primary Spikes will spread out as the distance increases from the highlight Spike Spread

The Spike Spread control allows you to make the Primary Spikes diverge as the distance from the highlight increases.

Color Saturation (C) - Sets the intensity of the highlight color used in the Primary Spikes Color Saturation Control

The Color Saturation control sets the amount of highlight color that will be rendered into the Primary Spikes.

Rainbow Intensity (R) - Sets the intensity of the multicolored 'rainbow' pattern in the Primary Spikes Rainbow Intensity Control

The Rainbow Intensity control sets the saturation of the color in the multicolored repeating "rainbow" pattern in the Primary Spikes. This is mixed with the color of the highlight.

Rainbow Frequency (F) - Sets how quickly the multicolored 'rainbow' pattern changes color in the Primary Spikes Rainbow Frequency Control

The Rainbow Frequency control sets the rate at which the multicolored "rainbow" pattern repeats.

Rainbow Phase (E) - Shifts the colors of the multicolored 'rainbow' pattern inward or outward Rainbow Phase Control

The Rainbow Phase control shifts the colors of the multicolored 'rainbow' pattern in Primary Spike effects inward or outward.
